from a coating to 2" to 1-3" inches for late Friday into Saturday. Friday evening commute could have snow and slick roads. Plan ahead.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for counties east of the District from 4 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday, including Prince George’s, Charles, Anne Arundel, Calvert and St. Mary’s counties in Maryland. It also includes some of our far southern areas in Virginia, including Fredericksburg and Stafford and Spotsylvania counties.

The Weather Service cautions one to two inches of snow are likely in these counties, and up to 3 inches nearer the Chesapeake Bay. The snow could impact the Friday evening commute.
