Reaction: I am pleasantly surprised FL is at 65.9%. Hopefully our fellow citizens can wise up and get the overall rate to herd immunity sooner rather than later (70 or 75%, forget the precise figure).
Good job, CT. You surpassed VT at 78.8%.
Alabama must be relieved, that WV is dead last now. Come on people, get vaccinated totally !

ETA: I copied the chart, so this will be small, sorry ! Notice that the chart is ordered for the "only one shot" population. The chart is very much out of order if you are looking at the "fully vaccinated" percentages. I have no idea why this chart is out of sync with data you all have. It comes from the CDC (bottom of third chart image).

(15,698 posts)But my county is dreadful. I don't think we've even cracked the 50% mark. A toxic combination of Trumpies and woo-woo anti-vaxxers.
We are seriously considering moving because that will never get better.

(90 posts)From what I have read herd immunity "is unlikely to happen" (quote from NY Times article July 21). I wish it were otherwise. If we are lucky, it will become a mild infection that can be treated.

(37,468 posts)You will see at the very top of the columns why I picked 65.9% as the Florida fully vaccinated figure. The NY Times got their data from the CDC (see bottom of third image). I do not know why this data is different from other charts you all have, but.... here it is.
