ORLANDO (WPEC) An unusual police chase played out in an airport in central Florida.
Authorities with the Orlando Police Department said an officer had to chase a woman as she sped away on a motorized suitcase.
The incident happened last April at the airport but newly released bodycam footage paints an interesting picture.
Police said the woman, identified as Chelsea Alston, was kept from boarding her plane because she appeared to be intoxicated.

(6,440 posts)The officer did not seem well trained to me. He seemed to be setting a a video vignette to amuse.
If a person is too drunk to get on a plane, they are not likely to engage well in a logical conversation by answering a question such as the one he posed about how is this going to help your situation.
The officer is showboating. His behavior is undignified just as hers may be. Beneath the surface of his amused observations is an element of cruelty.
An arrest is serious business. Everyone should be treated with respect. He tells us she is drunk. Maybe she is also tired. Riding on a suitcase is not a crime. There was no need for him to make fun of her for that choice,
On edit: Possibly riding on a suitcase in Florida is a crime.
