Both Jupiter, Boca Raton races likely to go to general election

Palm Beach County voters narrowed a crowded field of school board candidates Tuesday but chose no outright winner in the Boca Raton-area seat and were likely to have no winner in Jupiter, according to preliminary results.

Mindy Koch and Gloria Branch will face off for the school board seat representing Boca Raton after 100% of voting precincts reported their results.

As of 10 p.m. and with 96% of precincts reporting results, Matthew Lane and Page Lewis will likely be on the ballot Nov. 5 for Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens.

In the Jupiter-area race, incomplete results showed had attorney Lane receiving 40.8% of the vote (13,062 votes) and literacy coach Lewis got 36.9% with 11,836 votes. Francesca Wernisch was trailing the other two with 22% of ballots cast (7,117 votes).
