Do you spray your yard for mosquitoes?

It's all the talk in the hood about who and what to use to spray for mosquitoes. I am not an outside person this time of the year and, in general, the mosquitoes don't bother me. We have some woods next to the house which makes me think it would just be pointless to spray. We keep some bug spray so that my husband can work outside in the yard but that's it.

I have heard conflicting thoughts on what else gets killed by the mosquito spray. But long ago in a land far away I do remember the trucks coming around from time to time to spray the neighborhood. I don't think I'll ever forget the smell.

Do you spray?

I don't think we have a problem. Just wondering why so many of my neighbors are paying companies to treat their yards.

Poisons do not discriminate. By using poison, we are killing our biosphere.

After that, only the strongest, nastiest stull will survive.

We live in the woods and we just spray ourselves when needed.

pollinator. None of those chemicals are harmless. They cause problems for humans and other sentient creatures. Please don't spray, and encourage others not to.

I, too, remember the DDT trucks. We used to chase after them on our bicycles. I can't help but think that the problems I've had with asthma, eczema, and allergies all these years were partly caused by DDT.

Spray standing water to kill the larvae. If you don't have any standing water, do nothing.

Spraying the woods or yards does nothing but pollute. It does almost no short term good, as it kills very few mosquitoes, and does no long term good whatever.
