Georgia man arrested, accused of assaulting cops during U.S. Capitol attack
ALPHARETTA, Ga. — A Georgia man accused of assaulting multiple police officers during the attack on the U.S. Capitol has been arrested, federal prosecutors said.
Kevin Douglas Creek, 46, of Alpharetta, was arrested Wednesday by the FBI. The charges against him include assaulting, resisting or impeding officers; physical violence on Capitol grounds; and obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder.
A lawyer named in a federal court filing as representing Creek did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment Thursday.
Creek was seen on footage from officers' body-worn cameras hitting one uniformed police officer and kicking another, according to a court filing. During an interview with an FBI agent last month, Creek said he was armed with mace and a boot knife during the deadly insurrection at the Capitol on Jan. 6.
