Warnock, Kemp lead in respective Georgia races: poll

Georgia’s Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) and Gov. Brian Kemp (R) are leading their challengers in their respective reelection races, according to a new poll released on Thursday.

A poll from the AARP’s Georgia chapter conducted by Fabrizio Ward & Impact Research shows that 50 percent of likely voters polled would vote for Warnock compared to 47 percent who would back Republican challenger Herschel Walker, the former football star.

When looking specifically at independent voters, 48 percent said they would back Warnock compared to 45 percent who said they would back Walker.

Polling between Warnock and Walker is within the poll’s margin of error, which is plus or minus 4.4 percentage points, meaning that the candidates are essentially tied among voters.

I'm surprised it's that close.

Why voters can’t see how awesome Stacy is, is a mystery. She’s only getting 40 percent??????

a brain damaged squeaky-toy, Herschel Walker.

Either the people of Georgia are totally ignoring Walker's obvious cerebral misfortunes, or this poll is skewed to the right.

I can't believe Stacy Abrams isn't polling much better either.

An AARP poll. I wonder if younger voters are being polled on par with retired voters?

I'm a recently retired elem. teacher in Georgia. There are a lot of hidden democrats in the state. Remember the upset in 2020? Polls did not give a strong indication that this was coming.
I have lived in this state for 28 years and taught for 26. I've never seen the state vote go contrary to what I call "word in the hall". Word in the hall does not bode well for Walker or Kemp. We detest Kemp. He made us teach during a pandemic with little support then he "rewarded" us with a thousand bonus at the end of the hardest school year we had ever experienced. Some of my colleagues and I did the math and figured out this bonus equated to about 57 cents an hour for all the extra work we did. While our lives were at risk.
As if this wasn't enough the Republican party has spent the last year "bearing false witness" against us. Whether you're 5 years old or 55, a lie is lie is a lie. We will not vote for Liars! Teachers turned this state red to begin with and we will vote for whoever is ethical, honest and will provide a future for our students. We see the mess in Florida and the disaster education has become in Tennessee. Does anyone think we want that mess here? And we do not trust Brian Kemp. And Hershel, well bless his heart, he just as dumb as a box of rocks.
But teachers in the state risk getting fired if there's a photo of them with an alcoholic drink in their hand. So, we are not going to be very vocal about our views. Teachers are basically afraid to speak out. But we vote. Every. Single. Time. We vote.
And Stacey wants to give us an 11,000 raise over 4 years.
Man, the GOP is going to regret coming after the teachers.
