Help state employees fight Deal's insurance cuts

I just heard about a grassroots group which is protesting the horrible health insurance being pushed onto teachers and other state employees through the State Health Benefits Plan - Teachers Rally Against Georgia Insurance Changes (TRAGIC). If you or someone you know is a state employee or is covered by the SHBP (or if you just want to show support), visit their facebook page: facebook.com/groups/TRAGIC4GEORGIA.

Gov. Deal has stated that the outrage over this horrible insurance plan is being stoked by the insurance companies who lost the bidding to supply insurance to state employees. At the same time the attorney who worked for Nathan Deal's campaign is now representing United Healthcare (now the sole insurance provider to the SHBC - previously there were 2 providers), if that's not a conflict of interest I don't know what is.

Action items:

Sign the petition at http://tinyurl.com/SHBP-Petition

Join TRAGIC's facebook group - facebook.com/groups/TRAGIC4GEORGIA.

Call the Department of Community Health (DCH) at 404-656-4507 and let them know what they think of this shoddy insurance.

Dmail the DCH with your thoughts about this dchboard@dch.ga.gov.
