(59,724 posts)Eastern TN is gorgeous with the mountains. I used to live in Asheville & miss the mountains every day.
Contemplating a drive past polling places today...

(21,615 posts)He liked then Mayor Pete in the last presidential primary!
Secretary Pete really appeals to the Gen Z kids because hes nerdy-cool, super smart, and multi-talented.

(9,931 posts)Rural firehouse in the north Georgia mountains. Very smooth and efficient; no lines, but there were eight or ten other voters there. Counting my niece and her husband, that's at least four Democratic votes in this precinct!

(21,615 posts)There are Democrats all over GA, not just in the blue cities & blue suburbs!
Thanks for voting! 😀. 🗳🍑🇺🇸

(26,345 posts)The only problem is this is a very red county. I'm hoping students from our liberal college are voting here and that women are expressing their opinion of Roe v. Wade.
CottonBear
(21,615 posts)I hope that the college students will be able to vote.
Ive run into several here who havent turned in their absentee ballots and/or voted yet and theyre registered in their hometown.
I told them to return the ballot directly to the Board of Elections office in their home county on Monday or today. There are no more drop boxes.
Alternatively, they can get in line to vote if they have the time to drive home & stand in line.
🤞 🗳🍑🇺🇸

(198 posts)Worked as an assistant manager in a Gwinnett precinct. Hard time sleeping previous night, so woke at about 03:00, expecting a 04:00 series of alarms. Had to arrive at precinct at 05:00 for equipment setup. Polls open from 07:00 to 19:00, about 600 voters in person. Total turnout at my work precinct was 38%, home precinct was 52%.
For the first time, I helped returned the election supplies to HQ, which was a long process but it ran fairly effortlessly. Got home at 00:00 Wednesday, finally decompressed enough to go to be at 01:00.

Thank you for working to help the voting process go smoothly for your fellow Georgians!
