Molokai Harbor Businesses Say Security Zone Affecting Livelihood

HONOLULU -- An unwelcome cruise ship will be returning to Molokai Saturday morning.
While county officials said rules allowing the ship to dock will be enforced, businesses at the wharf said they're being forced out.
Photos taken at the dock at Kaunakakai Harbor show how state and county officials are prepared to make sure the American Safari Cruises tour ship makes it into port this time.
Last month, some Molokai residents were concerned about the effect of the cruise ship's industry on the island and created a human blockade to stop it from entering the harbor. Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa said he's hoping through a series of public meetings, they've come to a peaceful resolution with protesters. But a temporary security zone around the pier will be enforced Saturday.
