1. GET REGISTERED

Get registered to vote with your current name, at your current address, by 30 days before Election Day.

To be registered for the November 6, 2012 General Election, you must register no later than October 8, 2012.

You can get your registration started right now.

2. WHAT TO BRING

You need to bring a photo ID, with your signature on it, with you to the polls to make sure your vote counts.

For example, a Hawaii driver’s license or state ID card would be an acceptable form of identification.

3. VOTE!

Election day is Tuesday November 6, 2012. Polls in Hawaii will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. local time.If you are a registered voter in the State of Hawaii and need to find your polling place, please call the Office of Elections at (808) 453-8683 or neighbor island toll-free at (800) 442-8683. Note: there may be a delay before your name is found by this site if you recently registered to vote.

Absentee Voting

Hawaii has absentee voting by mail and in person. Any person registered to vote may cast an absentee ballot. No excuse is required. An application for an Absentee Voter Ballot must be received by the City/County Clerk where you reside no later than October 30, 2012, at 4:30 P.M. You may also vote at an absentee walk-in polling place before Election Day from October 23th, 2012 to November 3rd, 2012. Absentee walk-in polling places are located at the Offices of the City or County Clerk where you reside. For additional locations and hours of operations, call your City/County Clerk where you reside. Don’t forget to bring your ID with you.
