A North Idaho man faces serious charges after investigators say they found a dead mans body parts in a microwave, EastIdahoNews.com reported.
The Bonner County Sheriffs Office began investigating James David Russell, 39, on Sept. 10 after finding the body of David Flaget, 70, in a rural area near Clark Fork. Russell is charged with felony first-degree murder and felony cannibalism in an amended criminal complaint filed last week.
Witnesses saw the body of Flaget, the caretaker of the familys property, in a truck and suspected Russell had killed him, according to charging documents obtained by EastIdahoNews.com. When deputies arrived, they found Russell wearing gloves. He ran into a building, where a brief standoff ended with deputies taking him into custody, according to documents.
Deputies went to Flagets truck, where they found the body naked from the waist down positioned awkwardly in the passenger seat. In a probable cause affidavit, deputies noted duct tape bound Flagets wrists, and a section of his thigh and genitals were cut off and missing. It appeared the parts were removed after death.

(116,809 posts)1) 70-year-old meat is tough.
2) Don't microwave proteins. It just makes the meat tougher.
3) Apply seasonings liberally.
4) Ideally the meal should be paired with a red wine.
5) Remember to clean up after using kitchen equipment.
My apologies for being so tacky and glib. It's obviously a tragic situation and it seems almost unthinkable that anyone would engage in cannibalism in this country during modern times.

(60,969 posts)The following day, investigators served a search warrant at Russells home. Inside, detectives found tissue consistent with Flagets missing flesh. Investigators also found blood and tissue in a bowl inside the microwave. Some of the tissue indicated heat had been applied, possibly in the microwave for one to two minutes, according to court documents.
Investigators could not locate one of Flagets testicles, his penis and a portion of the thigh that was removed from his body. Investigators wrote in their probable cause affidavit that they believe Russell ate the missing body parts.
Witnesses report that on the day of Flagets killing, Russell acted agitated and recently had been having mental health issues.

(116,809 posts)I checked some of the OPs that I posted in that group and I may be riding a fine line in that group since some of the OPs include "Why Nudists Favorite Kitchen Aid is the Slow Cooker" and "Ten Easy Ways to Piss Off a Chef."
It's also possibly blasphemous to imply that microwaving falls under the category of cooking. The foodies can be brutal.
