There were record-setting temperatures for a fourth consecutive day today, marking the warmest St. Patrick's Day in 141 years.
WGN-TV's Tom Skilling predicts temperatures today will reach 83 degrees, breaking the mark of 74 degrees from 2009 and setting a St. Patrick's Day record. It's gotten up to 81 so far, according to the temperatures posted at O'Hare by the National Weather Service, so today is another record-setter.
Skilling says that the area has only had 10 days in the 80s in March in the past 142 years. And it will likely continue Sunday., when temperatures are expected to hit 81 degrees -- the record is 74 degrees in 1969 -- according to Skilling.

(24,931 posts)I was on vacation in Florida or something. It's just surreal. My body said "you can't be in Chicago in mid March. You must be somewhere else".

Remember canceling going to other year parades because it would be 'too cold' on St Pats
July could suck if the trend keeps up though
