Van Dyke’s role in the Lopez case had been seen as relatively minor, but it is being eyed closer given the striking similarities to the 2014 shooting of Laquan McDonald. The Lopez family’s lawsuit, which goes to trial in February, alleges that Chicago police shot the 23-year-old Hispanic janitor 16 times without cause and then made up a story that the man tried to run over an officer with his car, according to the Tribune.

Wonder how many murders have been covered up by the dept. and how far up the damage control goes...

2. Not new for the Chicago Police. 1969 Fred Hampton and Mark Clark

46 years ago. December 4, 1969...yea. Next days papers said that Hampton and Clark shot back..(cops were defending themselves)

But they were asleep in bed. City settled with the family years later...........

.now..think about this, 1981 is 34 years ago. So given the cost of living, multiply that number by 3 ok?..so the settlement in today's money is close to six million, with 1.8 million going to Hampton's family. What happened last year, happened 46 years ago. Nothing has changed...Well the cop was put in jail, only cause there was a video of the shooting. otherwise, same result... money paid out..and nothing done..

Sad but true.....check it out. I was working near the shooting, (as a teacher at Crane High School, 3 blocks from the shooting) some students walked me over during my lunch.. to the site of the shooting.. It was not locked up...Tours were given of the bed Hampton was lying in. This was 8 or 9 hours after the shooting.. It sure looked like he was in bed....That is where the blood was pooled. No.............I did not make this up. You got to look at newspapers of the time.. They were giving tours of the bedroom Hampton was shot in. As a young teacher then, it was something I never forgot, neither would you............................
