Related: About this forumSome Dirty Tricks Are Being Played In Illinois With Sample Ballots Sent To Voters.....
I posted this in the Bernie Sanders Group and had the suggestion to cross post it here in the Illinois Group. Please check out this link to a post from last night that called attention to a sample ballot mailed to voters in the 13th Ward of Chicago that didn't include Bernie's name or his delegates on it - only Hillary and her delegates.

As you scroll down the thread - you will see the actual sample ballot in question and comments from people reflecting on how these sample ballots are used by people on voting day. This will help you understand the sinister nature of this.
There is ample time between now and the voting in Illinois to get the word out and stop these dirty tricks now and not wait until after the voting is completed.
Please take the time to review this and comment on it. This needs to become an issue because it is another ploy to slow or stop the Bernie revolution.
This issue needs to get to the voters of Illinois and Chicago - but other states should take heed and watch for similar dirty tricks before voting occurs in your states.

(18,402 posts)Neither the City nor Cook County mails out sample ballots. The only way to get one is by going to the Chicago Board of Elections website, typing in your last name and address, and if you are fully registered, you can download your sample ballot.
Maybe what you got was a sample of who to vote for put out by a group--say, Cook County Democratic Party or another group that has made endorsements. I've not received one of those things yet for the primary, but I have in the past--more like cheat sheets for the candidates they have endorsed. And that's perfectly legit ... not a "dirty trick." Take a look at it again. (PS: I don't think Cook County Dems have made a presidential endorsement: they have made endorsements for States Atty, Water Reclamation District, and some judges.)

(25,920 posts)I am going by what one person who said they received it said and passing this on.
I am simply trying to bring this to the attention of Bernie folks here on DU to alert them to some possible shenanigans going on in Illinois.
It just isn't right - whether it came from the City or Cook County. Somebody out there is pulling a fast one on the voters. This shouldn't be condoned by Bernie or Hillary. It might be perfectly legit to send out - what you call cheat sheets for candidates they have endorsed. But it crosses the line when one makes it look like an official document from the City or County or Election Board and it ceases to be legit when all information is not provided. That's when it becomes a dirty trick. This was done intentionally to fool the voters. This type of behavior shouldn't be happening in a democracy. We should just not laugh it off as being a childish prank. This is a form of 'voter suppression' in my estimation.
