Related: About this forumIn some Congressional districts there is an extra Bernie delegate on the ballot.
(Illinois) You can only pick 7 but they listed 8 - in case one might drop out.
If you go down the list too fast you can easily vote for that 8th one and that is an over vote - negates all your delegates for Bernie.
The Trib had an article about this potential ballot problem in early March.

(6,027 posts)We had 6 Sanders delegates and a "Vote for not more than five".
They were Franklin, Sorenson, McDonald, Daley, Wolff, and Bailey.
Now I see there are issues causing the polls to stay open an extra 90-minutes.

McHenry County Clerk Mary McClellan said the polls will be allowed to stay open for another 90 minutes longer than originally planned after an emergency court order was granted.
She estimated the electronic books used to check voters in were not working in less than a dozen polling places when the polls opened at 6 a.m. However, the problems were sprinkled throughout the county, she said, with problems being reported at select locations in Algonquin, Chemung, Dorr, Dunham, Grafton, McHenry and Nunda townships.

(343 posts)We use paper ballots. There were not enough ballots, R or D, and many people were told to try coming back after 6 pm. There is a hotly contested State's Attorney race on the Republican side, and people are ticked. The County Clerk printed ballots for a 27% turnout, and is taking a very "Oh well" attitude. He has not explained why the delay in printing new ballots and getting them to the polls.
This County Clerk is a Republican, and he is already taking a beating from his own side. I hope this mobilizes us to put a candidate on the ballot next time.

and there are still people waiting at polling places for ballots. The news says it may be Thursday before there are certifiable results. Voter turnout was estimated to be 60%.
