call the Mayor's office and demand that they arm the airport police at O'Hare and Midway to protect the citizens of Chicago and all the visitors from around the world that come to Chicago.

This is insane. I don't believe the airport police where told to "run & hide" should there be an incident.

How can they pay these police for protection when they have no weapons to protect the people.

This was just a report on CNN that I heard all of this.

What the hell kind of city is Rahm running? The people on the streets of Chicago are killing each other because they are more armed than the airport police - that are there to protect the people. I just don't get it.

The (regular) Chicago Police are also covering the airports as well, and are certainly armed, but, I'm guessing the regular Airport Police are more like security guards than cops?

Again - unless in the last month or two they have Chicago Police in the terminal area - I haven't seen them in the terminals.

Entering and exiting the terminals - and I haven't flow in about a month now - there are no metal detectors.

If you look at the footage of the Turkey attack - this happened in the terminal area.

A Turkish airport police officer took out one of the bombers. He lost his weapon - but he still blown himself up. If he wasn't taken out by this cop - he could have shot more people before he detonated his vest.

This is the type of attacks we need to be prepared for now - even at U.S. airports. There is no excuse for hiring airport police if they don't have weapons to serve and protect.

5. The bastards @ Ataturk Airport shot up the 1st security checkpoint...

and then ran past it and shot up everything beyond. Then exploded their vests. I agree with you. They HAVE to be armed at every stage...
