1. It doesn't seem like either party has anyone naturally "next in line" right now.

Lisa Madigan's name keeps coming up but I think she'd run into too much blowback from media looking for a story.

2. I had heard rumors of Durbin when it was thought Dems would pick up a lot of senate seats

with the Clinton big sweep. Now I don't think he will leave congress to run and leave an open senate seat so that's out
