Kankakee County Sheriff confronts questions of online etiquette with Trump/Obama meme



The Kankakee County Sheriff's office had been posting its "9 p.m. routine" memes on its Facebook page for two months before one drew enough of a backlash that the department deleted it altogether.

The meme in question was a riff on one that had been appearing online since President Donald Trump's unsubstantiated claim last weekend that Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the election.

The department posted it on Wednesday evening reminding residents to lock up at night, and by Thursday some people were calling them out for it.

"Sad. So sad. K3, once again, proves that it belongs at the bottom of the barrel," one person commented on the department's page. "Try, please just try to show some class some times."
