Illinois
Related: About this forumIt looks like we have a viable candidate for the IL 16th!
https://www.neillforillinois.comHe does have a primary opponent. However, he is a young man with no political experience, and he is quite naive. He may learn a lot by running, but I am going to back Dr. Neill Mohammad.
I am so excited! I am tired of the "No candidate filed" stuff that I see here year after year!

(21,646 posts)Im running to represent the 16th district because, as a DeKalb native, I cant stand to watch a grifter and con-man president take advantage of peoples pleas for change ....

(706 posts)It was bad enough when we had deadbeat Manzullo ("I'm only going to serve for six terms whoops, I have more "work" to do" . Kinzinger is nothing but a younger version of Manzullo (sans the wife who supports him).
I wish IL would change the law that if a candidate runs unopposed, s/he must get 50.1% of the registered voters (or those of voting age!) in his/her race.
If I hear Kinzinger yak about the military one more time, I may have to get in his face and ask why if he isn't still serving.

(31,433 posts)Both candidates will be speaking to the Ogle County Democrats on April 5, at the Byron library. The meeting is between 6:00 and 7:30. I can't stand most of the Ogle County Democrats, for reasons I will not elaborate here. However, my husband and I are going to the meeting. We will probably sit in the back and leave after they finish speaking.
I am a precinct committeeman in my community, but I take no part in the Ogle County Democratic business. I work for the people of my precinct, and often, for the other two precincts nearby. I do quite a few things with and for the Carroll County and Lee County Democrats.
If Byron is not too far for you, you might want to go to that April 5th meeting.
