Marie Newman is setting an example for voters in the IL 3rd District
I was one of many who worked for Newman in the primary. I did so because I felt that she was the Member we needed to represent the IL 3rd District.
Since the primary, Newman has been sending out information to her supporters. This is her current message:
While this crisis has exposed more of the Trump Administration's incompetence and inhumanity, I am deeply moved by how many of us every day Americans have stepped up to support our neighbors.
We are in for some tough times, but I'm confident that our shared humanity and empathy for one another will get us through.
Many are struggling right now, and they need our help. So I'm writing today to ask you -- if you can -- to chip in to support your neighbors. Here are a few organizations doing good work that could use your help >>>
Support the Greater Chicago Food Depository -- Every dollar goes to providing food to struggling families.
Donate blood! -- US blood supplies are critically low. Consider finding a Red Cross blood drive near you.
Support the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights -- Many vulnerable populations have been directly or indirectly excluded from federal relief.
Support the Chicago Federation of Labor Relief Fund -- CFL is providing direct financial assistance to those who lost work due to COVID-19 and may not qualify for federal assistance.
And don't forget to take care of you! Treat yourself to a nice dinner this evening, and order out from a local restaurant offering curb-side pickup or delivery. Find a tasty meal here and support local hospitality service workers!
We are going to get through this, arm in arm, by fighting for each other. Thank you for all that you do. Stay strong, stay healthy.
Marie
November will be here soon, and I look forward to working for Newman and Biden so we can turn the page on the last 4 years.
