Related: About this forumWhat's The Latest ETA On More Vaccine For Illinois?....
I'm in the 1B group - over 72 with other issues and I've been having a difficult time getting an appointment for the vaccine.
I keep getting notices that I'm all signed up and registered - but when I try to make an appointment - I get the message back to 'please be patient' more vaccine is on the way.
Today I received a notice that there was some available and a site near where I live - but when I went that site - it said all appointments are already booked.
Why are people getting vaccine in other States - but it seems like we're being shorted here in Illinois.

(31,488 posts)We ended up going to the Hy-Vee pharmacy in Sycamore. It is a little over 48 miles from us. It was the first one that had available appointments.
We get our second shot on March 19.

(70,406 posts)Absolutely no updates, no info.
I'm not quite 65 yet, so I'm not 1b by age yet, but as a substitute teacher I'm on 3 schools' list, in 2 different counties.
I did find out the first school that put me on the list is in a county that ran out. Yes, they ran out for school employees.
I haven't heard a word from the other 2 schools in our county. And my wife, who is over 65, is on the county list.
But, we've heard nothing.
Getting irritating.

(18,889 posts)I'm almost 71 and can't find a vaccine to save my life. Seems like whenever someplace gets some vaccine in, the appountments fill up in no time. I feel like I'm going to have to spend my life on line, clicking here and there, hoping to get lucky. Tedious and frustrating.
To add insult to injury, literally every time I turn on the TV, there's a psa about how important it is for everybody to get vaccinated. I know the spots are aimed at people who are hesitant about getting the vaccine, and it's important to try to educate those people, but it drives me NUTS. What's the point of trying to recruit people to get vaccinated when there's not enough vaccine available for those of us who want it and are eligible?
It. Should. Not. Be. This hard.

(25,947 posts)I got my first dose on March 4th and the second dose I'll get on March 25th. I was able to make an appointment from info I got on this link/site: https://www.ilvaccine.org/
It is kept up to date and the info is very current. You might want to see if this helps.
Good Luck!!!!
