President Biden travels to Crystal Lake on Wednesday in first Illinois presidential visit
Sources told the Chicago Sun-Times that Biden will appear at a community college in Crystal Lake.
WASHINGTON President Joe Biden will make his first presidential visit to Illinois on Wednesday when he travels to Crystal Lake a northwest suburb in McHenry County that former President Donald Trump won in 2020.
The White House announced the visit Saturday night.
Sources told the Chicago Sun-Times that Biden, unless plans change, will appear at the McHenry County College in Crystal Lake. Biden will be at the community college to promote his American Families Plan a package of proposals dealing with, among other items, child poverty and making college more affordable.
While McHenry County voters preferred Trump, Crystal Lake is represented in Congress by Democratic Reps. Lauren Underwood and Sean Casten and they are expected along with other Illinois Democrats to be at the event.

How exciting.
Lauren Underwood totally rocks. If I lived one street over, I would be in her district. We did get rid of Peter Roskam in 2018, and have Sean Casten. He is not as dynamic as Lauren.
We're practically neighbors. I live in the southernmost part of CL, near where it bumps up against Lake in the Hills. I shop in Algonquin more than I do in CL.
Edited to add: I'm in Sean's district, too!

LITH had the same zip code.
My husband and I volunteered for one of Kastens primary opponents in the 2018 election - Kelly Mazeski. There were way too many candidates in that primary. Kasten won it by 1,790 votes - Kasten 19,774 to Mazeski 17,984. 4 other women and one other man split up almost 30,000 votes amongst them. It would have been interesting to see how things would have turned out had just Kasten and Mazeski been in the race.
Peoples egos get in the way and prevent them from dropping out when they should.
