I have a question I'm hoping someone here may be able to help with: how can I find out which congressional district I'm going to be in, now that the district boundaries have been redrawn?
My county used to be split 2 ways, between districts 6 and 14, but from what I've been able to learn, it's now going to be divided between 4 districts: 9, 10, 11, and 16. The problem is, I can't find a 2022 congressional district map with enough detail to tell for sure where I am. It looks like 9, but I'm just not sure, because the only maps I can find online have broad outlines that aren't all that helpful, especially for the Chicago area, which as you all probably know, is carved up into numerous, very oddly shaped chunks.
The primaries are still a ways off, so there's no rush, but it would be nice to know for sure.
(Edited to reflect new districting information I learned after my initial post.)

(25,571 posts)...with a friend of ours who is going to run for the McHenry county board. She was at our house to collect signatures for getting on the ballot.
She tried looking it up several different ways and could not find anything definitive.
And you are so right about the districts being oddly shaped - bizarre, even.
I don't live in Illinois but my kids do and hopefully I will, too, by next year. Anyhoo...
Here are a couple of places you might find your district:

Good luck.

(18,845 posts)I appreciate this, but these sources just show current districts, not the new ones.
I think we're just in a confusing transition period right now. To explain what I mean:
1. My corner of McHenry County is currently in district 6, represented by Sean Casten.
2. The rest of the county is in district 14, represented by Lauren Underwood.
3. Under the new districting, McHenry County will be split up between districts 9, 10, 11, and 16.
4. It's my understanding that when we go to the polls in 2022, we'll be voting according to the newly drawn district boundaries.
5. The primary isn't till June, and there's not much info available yet as to who will be on the ballot.
5. When the new congress is seated in January 2023, we will be represented by whoever got elected to represent our newly drawn district.
Right now, everyone in McHenry County is represented in Congress by either Casten or Underwood. When the new Congress is seated, no one in the county will be represented by either of them. This is what's been throwing me for a loop. I know and like both Casten and Underwood, and I dont know who is going to be representing my neck of the woods after January, so this is going to be a big change. I just hope we stay blue!

(18,402 posts)Click on the blue block for approved congressional districts from 10/28/21, which I believe is the final approved plan (but could be wrong).
Also, you might try logging into the state or local election board websites to check your registration. If updated, it should tell you your Congressional district, as well as judicial, state legislative, etc.
Ooh, better here. Map showing CDs through January 2, 2023, and map for after January 3, 2023.

Those are a big help, thanks!
