tom skilling (chicago's wgn weatherman) said today's halloween was the second snowiest on record; the first being in 2019 with over 3 inches.

he also said there have only been 4 colder halloweens in the past 153 years.

and tonight there was the weirdass thundersnow in downtown chicago.
it was cold!

i'm out in the western burbs -- and this afternoon we actually got white out conditions for about five or ten minutes. driving home it was hard to see the stoplights and car headlights.

we had several bouts of snow. oswego had snow and sleet

i went out with my daughter and granddaughter for about an hour with a feels-like temp of 25!
then it started to snow again. so we headed back.

at least it didn't rain. LOL

1. I live in one of the far northwest...

…suburbs of Chicago. In the early afternoon, I went to the local Kohl’s. I was there about 45 minutes. When I went to leave the store, I was shocked when I looked out. Snow was covering everything. I hadn’t yet put a snow brush in my car, so had to scrape of the windows with my hands. Fortunately, I did have gloves.

It was like the world had changed in less than an hour.

Later, we had more snow while the sun was shining.

3. We Had 50 Kids Show Up!!!

About 15 minutes before the start time, it was snowing. Like sticking to the grass snow!
Right then, I figured a big goose egg was nigh.
We only had 50 something last year and it was on the 60s!
