My vaccine experience -

Indiana changed the qualifications to 65+ on Feb 1st. I went to the state vaccine website and waited in line to be transferred to the appointment page. It told me how many people were ahead of me and how long the wait was. For me it was 37 minutes, during which I called people to tell them they could register now. When I was transferred to the appointment page there was a list of all the places I could go and when I clicked on them there was a calendar that told when their first appointment date was. I checked the five places closest to my house, the county fair grounds, which said the middle of March. A clinic that said the beginning of march. Two hospitals that said Feb 22, and, the closest place, a clinic two miles away that had appointments on Feb 12. I got to choose what time I wanted to go and the appointment was made. Then it asked me to pre-register, which was where they asked health questions. It was just a few pages and a few questions. That was it.

I went for the vaccination yesterday and the health department people were set up in the side of the lobby. I gave them my ID, they checked the computer, I sat down and the nurse called my name immediately. I got my shot, my card with my next appointment was filled out by the other nurse while I was being injected. I had to go sit back in the chair for fifteen minutes to make sure I didn't have a reaction and that was it. There were six chairs with people in them and nobody standing around waiting. It was fast, organized, and easy.

After seeing and reading all the news reports of problems everywhere, I was amazed and very happy that it's going so well here.

I was shocked that we're better than Illinois, too. A few days ago they had people who were spending all day on the phone calling around trying to get an appointment and never did. All I did was a few mouse clicks and a half hour wait.

9. I think the previous misadministration's red state bias

has yet to have been cleared from the system. My state has a red county bias and DeSatan.

I was very, very, extremely happy I got it, too. I was a little surprised at what a relief it felt like to have even the first one.

3. I got mine from a nursing student.

This was in central Indiana. Very well organized at a local hospital. The shot didn't hurt.

4. I also got my vaccine yesterday. very similar experience. Went to the Duane Reade/Walgreens

pharmacy. Also very organized and no wait. I do believe a lot of his has to do with President Biden and the new crew in charge.

8. My experience here in Indiana was also excellent

I qualified earlier because I'm nearly 80. On January 22nd, I called my family doctor's office, and the nurse set up an appointment for me for the next day, at a downtown clinic. I was offered several time slots, and chose the one that was most convenient for me. Almost immediately after ending that call, I received an email from the State Health Department, asking several demographic and health questions, and my appointment was confirmed. Really easy and quick.

On the evening of Jan 23rd, I arrived on time. There was a wait of less than five minutes, and they checked me in at the computer. I was escorted to an office, received my first injection of the Pfizer vaccine, stayed in the "recovery" area for 15 minutes to make sure I had no negative reactions, and left. I think the entire event took less than a half hour. People were arriving and leaving comfortably with virtually no waiting time.

Then yesterday evening, I received my second injection, again with the same ease. Indiana has this process down to a pretty fine art. I don’t like many things about this state, but they do know how to organize Covid vaccine injections. Got my little CDC Card to prove it!
