Turnout is HEAVY at my polling place in Hamilton County.

I got up there around 7:15 and there was no place to park. Another place a little way down the road was also full to the max, with cars parking alongside the road.

So, I'm gonna go for a run, come back, and try again around midmorning, after the before-work crowd finishes. NOT looking forward to running the gauntlet of Mourdock/Pence supporters, though, who are out in FULL force.

How are things at your polls?

I voted early but delivered an elderly neighbor to the polls. I went by at 12:45 to see whether they had a wheelchair available for her (it's a local museum) and there were no voters; an hour later I brought her and there was no line. We were actually there for over 30 minutes because there was a glitch with the machine and she had to revote, and a total of 3 other voters passed through.

Since it's pretty "red" around here I hope that's a good sign, and that most of us Democrats voted early (my whole family did).

Got there a little after 9:30 and voted right around 11. I don't know what brought them out more -- the presidential race, or the public questions in Fishers (concerning a merger with Fall Creek Twp. and restructuring the local government).

I brought a book and an iPod. It kept me occupied, since I'm usually not a good waiting-in-line person.

Indiana really should reconsider extending its poll hours to 7 or 8 p.m., like the rest of the world. Closing them at 6 on days like today is just way too early. I know that if you're in line when they officially close you can still vote, but I think longer hours just makes more sense.

I live in Hendricks county(Avon)and the wait was around 45 minutes. Finally got to vote. Others I talked to said they also had to wait around 40-45- minutes. The Republicans were out in full force as everyone knows this county is really red.
