got my first Covid vaccine today in Coralville.. moderna Hubby gets his this afternoon

2 weeks ago the U of I healthcare contacted me that they would be letting us know when the vaccine would become available and contacting us.. I stopped worrying

The U health care really had such a good set up.. they had at least 5 check in stations.. I think 14 vaccination stations and 2 o3 sitting rooms for your 15 minute wait.. since I did my preregister online.. it was so easy walk in, they had all my paperwork together and my second vaccine is already scheduled for March 24th..Everyone who greeted us was so welcoming and friendly.. and the sitting areas had seats that were at least 8 feet apart and as soon as some left they flew in and disinfected the are..

Its a good thing to live in the blueberry of the tomato soup of Iowa..

That is how it is done Reynolds.. you make a plan and you go through with it.. and you do not sit on your hands waiting for the good fairy to drop in and make it all better

You must be so relieved!

My husband got his first one this afternoon. He said he never left his car, either before or after. There was a place to park afterwards and then they came and checked on him to make sure he was fine.

I'm really happy to see this moving faster now. Sort of makes it feel like the nightmare will be over one day.

They have just been so on top of everything. even with Reynolds doing her best to kneecap the county with opening crap up too soon..We may be 47th right now in getting injections out.. (last I heard) but it is not because our county officials have not been working their butts off..

in the very blue town of West Liberty - but the county is bright red and the difference between these two counties is night and day.

ETA - the rest of my family that lives in Johnson County all get their 2nd shot next week.
Sometimes that county line feels like the Berlin Wall
