Related: About this forumIowa made it on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver again (and not in a good way)
The whole show is great but the part about Iowa starts at about the 20 minute mark.
Apr 18, 2024
John Oliver discusses why millions of people have been kicked off of Medicaid, why Medicaid access was difficult even before the current unwinding, and what would happen if fruits and vegetables could talk.

I thought he covered this last week or was it Medicare?

Apparently HBO is delaying the YouTube release of the show a few days now in the hopes that you'll pay for MAX.

(63,156 posts)2. It was gawd awful when Branstad did this ; it continues to be beyond horendous
But since Kim is dismantling anything public that helps people the few good reporters left in Iowa can't even keep up with the new horrors let alone deal with a decade old government made disaster.
If I believed in hell, I would hope Branny and the Kimmer both get their just desserts there.

I know someone in the healthcare field (small town doctor) who was horrified by this when it happened. He and his staff had to spend countless unpaid hours on the phone every week trying to resolve cases that would have easily been approved in the past. People suffered for no good reason.
