he used to be my rep. I watched him change from a somewhat decent person (but I viewed him skeptically) to one of the biggest assholes I ever met:

(50,753 posts)There's a lot to unpack there. Oof.
But my big take away is that he seems just a little bit panicked about the dissent within the ranks! Adding to that internal strife is the divide because of the carbon pipeline. The Steve King wing wants to primary anyone who supports the pipeline. I hope they eat each other.
Just a side note, I wonder if this video was supposed to become public? On the Youtube page it says "UNLISTED whomever you share the link with are the only ones that can view this video."

I agree there is a lot to unpack there. Kaufmann was my rep many years back. Early on he seemed to be a decent fellow looking for input on issues. Used to have long conversations with him. Over the years he has turned into a raging asshole seemingly bent on destroying democrats.
My wife reminded me how he screwed over a mutual friend when she ran for state senate. She was a teacher at the local college and he was her department chair. She thought the world of him and he really screwed her over. Don't believe they have spoken since.
I had a couple of personal battles with him also and could not understand where he was coming from. Since I do not know what influences him, I just assume he has been brainwashed with money, power and praise. For a history major he seems to have missed much of the lessons of history.

Kaufmann represents the party well. They all seem a little un-hinged lately. Gone are the days where we could have a reasonable discussion with the opposing party.
