Related: About this forumWell, Iowa activists - Will we stand up to Grassley? Time for him to be FIRED!
Letters to the editor, letters to Grassley's office, Ernst's office and your rep's office.
let them know that not doing their job as described in the Constitution itself is not acceptable.
Republicans are always talking about the private sector. Well, if Grassley was working in the private sector his ass would have been out the door this afternoon had he not been fired previously.
And his buddies need to go with him.
Personal responsibility? That's what Republicans always say. Well, Chuck just gave his bosses (us) the finger. Are we going to lay down and take it or fire this Koch sucker out of office?

(18,470 posts)Namely in getting a candidate out there to run against Grassley in the coming years, promote that candidate as much as possible, and support him or her until the end of the campaign and even past the end if it comes to a recount.

(10,121 posts)If there is a Democrat running against him I honestly don't know who it is.
Assuming he wins in November, and it's overwhelmingly likely, he would be 89 in 2022 when he would next be up for reelection. After this year there really is only one more opportunity, in all likelihood, to get a candidate to run against him.
However, assuming Braindead is still governor at the time (and he is "Governor for Life" I think Grassley probably retires sometime late in his next term, so that his named successor can run as an incumbent -- possibly his grandson Pat.

(12,336 posts)That is a problem. It seems that no Democrat wants to try and unseat him. I was thinking Tom Vilsack but who knows if he even wants to?
