Congressman Steve King wasted no time getting back to Washington after his easy Republican primary victory and says he's meeting with a top foreign policy adviser to GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump to see if he can support him.

King says he'd vote for Trump if the election happened today but he won't endorse the billionaire businessman until he's convinced Trump will surround himself with people that would reflect conservative principles.

Trump's position on immigration aligns with King's but the seven-term Republican says he's unsure about Trump's positions on other issues including judicial appointments and sentencing reform.

He says he's meeting Wednesday afternoon with the Trump adviser.
