Related: About this forumBrainfart says no to being Trump's VP
Even Gov Brainfart apparently knows a sinking ship when he sees one;
Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad says he has no intention of becoming Donald Trump's running mate.
When asked at his weekly news conference whether he'd consider joining a Trump ticket he declined to answer with an emphatic no, but said he didn't want to get into that type of speculation. He says he's honored to serve the people of Iowa and "not intending to be a candidate for national office."
Branstad says he's offered to advise Trump on renewable fuels including ethanol and wind energy and the Republican Party's presumptive nominee has indicated an interest in working with Branstad on those issues.
Branstad's 40-year-old son, Eric, is the Trump campaign's state director in Iowa.

And wasn't this the same Eric whose reckless driving got him into an accident that killed a couple people?

(50,747 posts)4. I sometimes have a hard time admitting I'm from Iowa.
While we have always had pockets of stupid, there would usually be something to be proud of. But lately, it's been a tough row to hoe.
If we can get rid of Grassley this year, I'll be jumping for joy.

(50,747 posts)5. Why does the media always ask him that.
He's barely qualified for the job he has.
Have they asked Breadbags yet?

(63,200 posts)7. better question is how they could do it without doubling over in hysterics
Probably won't ask breadbags - probably go straight to the Koch boys and just arrange a purchase.
