His conclusion spoke to me as a Bernie supporter. Any Hillary people care to comment?

Sneer at "white privilege all you want, but the simple fact remains that a lot of us are simply smacked in the face with an unsettled world that confuses us.
We agree that women should have equal opportunity, but when we are faced with the musical chairs of the decline of "good" jobs, just what are we supposed to do? When we see law, veterinary, and medical schools graduating more women than men, how do we see ourselves as "privileged"? And then throw race in the mix...
College? Hell, most bus driving jobs are going to women now to fill quotas now that the racial quotas are filled. And has anyone noticed how few men are local news reporters lately?
Anyway, it was all cool while we were expanding and there were opportunities for everyone. And it was even cooler for coal miners and steel workers before they saw their industries changing. Not so now.
There's no point bringing Sanders into this. He had no real solutions, and barely admitted there's a problem. Clinton didn't do much better, but she had some ideas that were buried under the email talk.
The simple truth is that work, and personal worth, is disappearing before our eyes. Even cab driver and pizza delivery work is going away.
And no one has a solution.

(136,064 posts)angry white males (and females) who decided this election. On the other hand, Hillary Clinton never spoke to this constituency directly, and when she did, it was to dismiss them as a basket of deplorables or to proclaim a reality that did not exist for them that America is already great. These statements may well have cost her the election. In order to understand why this happened, the country must accept one simple fact white male privilege does not negate white male anger. How can I say this?
Because I am a privileged, angry white male.'

(50,747 posts)That's an excellent article.
It reminds me of an incident a couple years ago. I was shocked when a white female (Fox viewer) told me, with all sincerity, that it must be hard for me being a white male in America now. Apparently I've been discriminated against because I'm white and male! She honestly believes that!
She did NOT believe me when I said I couldn't think of a single instance when being a white male put me at a disadvantage.
Needless to say, she voted for Trump.
