Iowa woman charged with voting twice for Trump pleads guilty

DES MOINES (AP) — An Iowa woman charged with voting twice for Donald Trump last fall pleaded guilty to election misconduct and is scheduled to be sentenced next month.

In exchange for Terri Lynn Rote’s guilty plea to the felony charge, prosecutors agreed to drop a perjury charge, court records show. Judge Michael Huppert accepted her plea on June 27 and set sentencing for Aug. 15.

Rote is a registered Republican and a Trump supporter. She was arrested on Oct. 21 after she showed up at a Polk County election satellite office and tried to cast a second ballot for the November election.

She told police that she believed Trump’s claims that the election was rigged and thought that her first ballot would be changed to a vote for Hillary Clinton. Trump easily beat Clinton in Iowa to win the state’s six electoral votes in the Nov. 8 election.

Anyone want to bet a penny her experience will make her realize voting twice wouldn't be all that easy for Democrats either?

8. VERY possible. Our son once dated a girl so ultraconservative,

and so stupidly paranoid apparently, that she believed the TV show The X-Files was engaged in getting secret warnings about our government out to the people. Secret. Uhuh.

Shiver when I think she could have gotten pregnant. She had a hostile dislike for most people, which she didn't realize, and also didn't like children, which she also certainly didn't realize. And that was the young, dewy-eyed version of her 17 years ago. Fortunately, she followed her bigoted, prepper-for-end-of-world parents to West Virginia (97% white at that time), so we don't run into her.
