LOGAN, Ia. U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley faced relentless questioning about President Donald Trumps fitness for office and his own handling of the investigation into Russian election meddling at a rural town meeting here Friday morning.
Amid a smattering of questions about trucking regulations, homeopathic medicine and pension security, a steady stream of attendees pressed Grassley to defend his handling of the ongoing Russia investigation and to offer his views on Trumps conduct on the job.

Grassley deflected that question, saying he wasnt qualified to make a psychiatric assessment, but Mikels persisted.

(9,426 posts)Russian money has Grassley received? Surely, he can not be blackmailed, but BRIBED is another story. He is working hard to keep everything under wraps, secret.

(63,207 posts)his 99 county tour hit Muscatine and Muscatine hit him with both barrels.
Following that his tour took some strange and often shall we say much less travelled roads.
Grassley took to avoiding towns of any size shifting much of his tour to very small towns in the south and west part of the state.
One way he still makes his "99 county tour" while avoiding big cities is to meet with chambers of commerce or go to a manufacturing facility. He counts it and avoids actual voters.
His appearances used to be announced well in advance. Heck I used to get his newsletter and appearances would sometimes be announced a month ahead. Now sometimes an appearance is announced the night before.
Amazingly Logan is out in King country. Bet it raised a lot of eyebrows when a hostile crowd would show up out there.
