Related: About this forumBlum has ethics issues now.
Surprise, surpriseEach member of Congress is required to file a financial disclosure that shows any investments or business involvements that may create a conflict of interest. Blum's disclosure leaves out his role as co-founder of Tin Moon. The company helps businesses manage internet search results that way good stuff about a business shows up more often than bad. And the role of his chief of staff promoting Tin Moon could be another ethics violation.
You can't visit Tin Moon's website without seeing a testimonial from a man named John Ferland who it says is "representing" another company called the Digital Canal Corporation. But The Associate Press reports Ferland never worked for Digital Canal. He is actually chief of Staff for Congressman Rod Blum.
House ethics rules require members of congress identify all business ties to avoid conflicts of interest. But in Blum's 2016 disclosure, he made no mention of his role at Tin Moon. A business filing lists him as one of two board of directors when the company incorporated that same year.
And of course does Blum man up and take responsibility? Fuck no. And who does blame for his ethical lapses? That's right. He took a cue from the Orange Stooge playbook and blamed the Democrats. He really needs to go away.

(1,728 posts)Cut to the chase: In spite of his lies and distractions to the contrary, this slime ball IS complicit in throwing up a storefront, posing as CEO and using his position (congressional office photo now scrubbed) and staff to engage in the shady business of tamping down and obscuring negative Internet search results for clients seeking to avoid market-based consequences for violating FDA, labor, and other regulations and laws.
THINK. ABOUT. THAT.
This guy chairs a House subcommittee on Small Business!
The fact that he failed to/forgot to/or didn't think it necessary to report this business [engaged in dirty dealing and deception] is beside the point. This business was all about SHAFTING the ordinary, rank and file consumer.
I sure as hell hope our flaccid state party can get its shit together and crush this SOB. So far, crickets.
LOCK THEM UP. I'm pissed--and this just stoked the rage.

(1,728 posts)while I value them, the satyagrahi tactics of nonviolent resistance may no longer apply.
I remain categorically opposed to physical violence. That leaves the pen, and there is a point at which it becomes necessary to wield it as a mightier sword. Now is such a time.
