Texas-based company buys Payless headquarters with hopes of leasing out space

TOPEKA -- A Texas-based investment company has purchased the former Payless Shoesource Headquarters with hopes of leasing the space to different prospects.

Kamal Hussein, of Sanourco Realty LLC, said they are going to keep the property as offices and plan to keep the configuration of the building as is.

Payless Shoesource Headquarters, 3231 S.E. 6th Ave., was placed on the market for $8.5 million at the end of 2017 after the company filed bankruptcy.

There is 241,000 square feet of space for lease that can be broken up into multi-tenant use, according to David Petersen, of Associated Commercial Brokers.
