Students petition to shut down WSU's Chick-Fil-A for good

As of Wednesday afternoon, nearly 300 people have signed an online petition to get popular restaurant Chick-Fil-A out of WSU's Ratigan Center.

This comes after a statement by the company's president Dan Cathy said he was "guilty as charged" in support of what he calls the Biblical definition of the family unit.

Gay marriage advocates have since called the statement bigoted, including some in Wichita.

Grad student Katelyn Delvaux, the petition's organizer, says in a statement: "This petition is not meant to be viewed as an attack on Chick-Fil-A.... To continue doing business with a company that undermines the spirit of WSU is to do a disservice to us all. "
