Sedgwick County training poll workers, encouraging more ahead of Election Day

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - With Election Day four weeks away, the Sedgwick County Election Office is in the process of training new poll workers and encouraging more to come forward.

“We’re training [300 to 400] poll workers for the November 5 elections,” said Sedgwick County Chief Deputy Election Commissioner Brad Beets.

It takes about four hours of training for someone to be qualified to help work the polls on Election Day. Beets discussed the importance of the work and what’s involved.

“So, we’ll work on check-in, have a chance to work on machines and make sure we’re doing things well,” Beets said.
