WASHINGTON Kentucky's Senate race isn't a nail-biter, like races in more politically competitive states, but Senate Democrats clearly are paying attention to Lexington Mayor Jim Grays longshot bid to replace Sen. Rand Paul.
Fifteen senators, including Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Tim Kaine, have donated to Grays campaign, according to the most recent campaign finance reports. Together, the senators have chipped in $69,200 from their leadership political action committees, the pots of money that senators use to help fellow Democrats get elected, separately from their own campaign accounts.
Among the Senate Democrats writing checks to Grays campaign are Charles Schumer of New York ($10,000), Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota ($10,000), Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts ($5,000) and Kaine of Virginia ($2,700).
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee endorsed Gray earlier this year, before the Democratic primary.

Good on the Senate Dems for their support.

(116,747 posts)I think that Rand Paul also lost some of his popularity in his failed presidential bid. His fights with Trump showed his stupidity and it's pretty difficult to be more stupid than the Donald.
