Message from my 94-year-old Louisiana mom

"Trump is crawfishing now about the voter fraud case. He has postponed it. He is crawfishing on a lot of things as he learns how the real world works. Steamy year ahead. He's so stupid on world affairs."

She must mean "walking backwards" although I'm pretty sure crawfish walk forward and crabs walk sideways, but this woman is one smart cookie.

I grew up in the north playing in a nearby creek that had oodles of crawfish/crawdads and they can not only forward but can walk and swim very fast backwards too. To go fast they just tuck their tale underneath go.

but I'll have to file that one away for future use.

My dad is 95 and has always come out with some real gems that I love to pull out and use now and then.

he backs right up real fast. Crawfishing is running backwards, retreating.
