Marquette County Department of Veterans Affairs millage on primary ballot, early voting open now

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The millage that helps fund the Marquette County Department of Veterans Affairs is up for renewal.

For nearly ten years, the Marquette County Department of Veterans Affairs has helped thousands of veterans obtain the services they need.

It’s been funded by a millage levying 0.10 of a mill that passed in 2014. As this is a renewal, the average homeowner in Marquette County will continue to pay $15.42 per year.

Craig Salo is the department’s former director. He says administrators have been conservative with their funding from the start.
