Saginaw councilman changes mind, will campaign as write-in candidate

SAGINAW, MI — Saginaw City Council member Reggie Williams II will seek re-election after all.

Williams filed to run as a write-in candidate, seeking a seat for a two-year term on the city’s nine-member governing body.

His lone competition: former state House candidate Carly Rose Hammond, who filed in time so that her name will appear on ballots in November.

To support Williams, voters must fill in the write-in oval on the ballot for that race and then write in Williams’ name, Saginaw County election officials said.
