Just received my Mail-in Ballot

It took 6 days to arrive here in the U.K. mailed from Birmingham, MI.

Curious if there are other Michigan ExPats voting from overseas and what postal lead-time they have seen so far.

Filling out my ballot tonight and then off to the Royal Mail tomorrow!

1. Yay! Hi, fellow Michigander! Get it in the mail ASAP because USPS has dismantled sorting

machines in the Detroit area and Grand Rapids. I live in Lansing and it took 4 days for my ballot to get from the Lansing Township Office to my place, which are 3.9 miles apart. They closed down the Lansing Post Office a few years ago so even mail within Lansing has to go to Grand Rapids first to be sorted. Our State Capitol doesn't even have a real post office anymore. You can check online if your ballot was received by going to https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/

I dropped off my ballot on Sunday the 27th and it showed up online as having been received on Monday the 28th.

2. That's that plan!

Express delivery, tracked, signed, etc.

Last election my ballot was sidelined in Chicago for 3 weeks and missed the deadline.

3. I haven't received mine yet today and the mail has been delivered.

I live a half mile from the township hall and it shouldn't take 7 days to get here. I'm keeping my eye on this since all of our township people are GOP. Our clerk screwed up my last request for the August primary, so I don't trust her.

4. Have a friend who lives in Antrim county, Michigan

She still has not received her ballot and is calling almost everyone. still no response.

5. Just heard from my daughter who is in Oakland County...

that she received hers today.

6. Received my ballot today.

I'll be filling it out this afternoon and dropping it off at the township hall in person.
