Michigan police officer posts threatening remark on Facebook days after being fired

A northern Michigan police officer recently fired for allegedly getting in a physical altercation with the police chief posted a threatening remark on social media days later.

St. Ignace Police fired officer Richard Cullen on Friday, a few months after he was placed on leave for the altercation with Chief Tony Brown.

Cullen, who was deployed in Afghanistan as a training coordinator for the Department of Defense, posted on Facebook Sunday, referring to his time overseas: “I experienced and learned more in that year+ than I did the entire 20 year duration of my now quasi closed Law Enforcement career. There’s no doubt I will call those lessons back into service as I enter a new Jihad against my oppugnant. #thinbluelinestrong #imcomingforyou”

St. Ignace Councilman Luke Paquin, Mayor Connie Litzner and Police Chief Brown told the Free Press that some city officials and residents perceive the post as a threat.
