Man killed longtime boyfriend after argument over video game, police in Michigan say
PONTIAC, MI A 31-year-old Pontiac man is facing charges of second-degree murder after police say he killed his boyfriend of 10 years following an argument over a video game. WDIV-Detroit reports Docquen Watkins was arraigned Sunday on the charge after he was arrested by deputies with the Oakland County Sheriffs Office.
Police say they were called to an apartment in the 10 block of Carter Street in Pontiac just before midnight on Jan. 6. When police arrived, they found the victim 28-year-old Rory Teasley inside the apartment unconscious and not breathing. Teasley was taken to a hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead there.
Police believe the two men were playing a video game together when an argument started and eventually ended with Watkins choking Teasley to death. Watkins was taken into custody and lodged at the Oakland County Jail.
Watkins is being held without bond and is scheduled to return to court on Jan. 18 for a probable cause conference.
