People are really trying to cancel Detroit's Cold Truth over refusing to serve police in body armor

(Detroit Metro Times) Cold Truth in Midtown has some of the best vegan soft serve in Detroit. But people are losing their shit trying to cancel them after the ice cream spot said in a social media post that it refuses to serve police wearing “heavy duty tactical gear.”

On Thursday, Cold Truth posted an Instagram story showing a Detroit Police car parked on the wrong side of the street in front of the shop. The caption read, “we can tolerate the parking however you please, but we will not serve anyone wearing body armor.”

Apparently, this pissed off some sensitive Blue Lives Matter types who are now calling Cold Truth “disgusting” and vowing never to eat the shop’s delicious soft serve again. Fine by us. That just means maybe the line will be shorter next time we go. (Sometimes the line goes down the block, and they sell out before we can get our fix.)

The hypocrisy of people who cry about toxic “cancel culture“ now trying to cancel an ice cream shop is so stupid, it’s hilarious. Who’s the snowflake now?

Vows to boycott the shop grew after Cold Truth posted a statement on their Facebook page, upholding their stance. ..............(more)

That’s why we fought so hard for cake shops to be required to serve gay customers for wedding cakes.

why would any police in full body armor be frequenting an ice cream store?

Might this not even earn a single question? Not sure how requesting they return without the intimidating gear would be discrimination--only a courtesy request.

These guys just love to walk around and pose in public in their tactical gear. It’s ridiculous and they look like clowns. I have no problem with any business who tells these bozos that before they come in they must take off that shit as they aren’t serving a warrant on a felony 1st degree. These fucking guys just love big dickin’ the general public. Tired of all their shit.

You let discrimination start and it will eventually get to everyone. Maybe not this place but the next place that doesn’t like a group will use this as an acceptable example.

8. These are public servants who are paid with public tax dollars. They are not private citizens

While on duty. I don’t have any problem with a business telling their public servants that of course they can come in but leave the fear and disdain for the public outside.

I don’t think that many cops in full tactical are walking into an ice cream shop so it’s kind of a bullshit story. In a post yesterday someone was pissing and whining they the Capitol Police who were arresting if abortion protesters were wearing body armor when in fact they were wearing baseball caps and yellow high visibility vests. Most departments require Kevlar to protect their officers. No different that Steele toes and a construction hat for an iron worker.

Now If an officer is wearing a fucking Level 4 plate carrier that goes over the uni most officers will take that shit off when going into an establishment when NOT on a call. If the officer has the chest rig on while getting ice cream fuck that asshole. They know the optics…fuck your feelings. The Blue Line Gang rides again!!

And asking me to have sex with them.

I am willing to bet the number of women coming to have sex with me is about the same as the number of tactically dressed cope are going into a vegan ice cream shop….

Somewhere around none. Actually really none.

What else should I ban, I know, people who are bringing me the publishers clearinghouse million dollar check,

Gang members every god damn weekday near my office building. They walk in to the sushi restaurant, Panda, Starbucks, etc all geared up for reaction. It’s so cool when they pull up in their SWAT rigs to get coffee . It’s the same us vs them mentality. Bootlickers may think it’s cool but not me!

See tactical clad people all the time Metropolitan police, Secret Service, FBI, Military, capitol Police. Rarely see them all tactical in a subway, ice cream shop, maybe occasionally a dunks as they are caffeine junkies……a7/11 for a bunch of Monsters….but all tacked up, rarely
