DVS warns Minnesotans of private, unaffiliated license renewal business, KSTP, 1/28/21

Minnesota's Department of Public Safety Driver and Vehicle Services division (DPS-DVS) is warning Minnesotans of a license renewal business that's unaffiliated with the state.

DVS said mndrivinglicenserenewal.com is a private business and isn't part of DPS-DVS. The department said the business charges additional fees that aren't necessary for renewing online, and recommended residents use drive.mn.gov for online renewal services.

The announcement comes a day after DVS warned that the extension for renewing expired licenses and ID cards will come to an end soon and urged Minnesotans to make plans for their renewals.

I hate these greedy f*ckers. But an easy way to remember is to be wary of the .com extension, and stick to the .gov extension, unless you really trust them and think you are getting real value for the extra cost.
