Related: About this forumAbortion Protected by Minnesota Supreme Court Ruling
From Axios:
Abortion will remain legal in Minnesota for the foreseeable future, but today's ruling is expected to increase demand for the procedure from out-of-state patients. . . .
The big picture: While Minnesota is not one of the 16 states that have passed laws explicitly legalizing abortion, the procedure is protected under a 1995 state Supreme Court ruling in the case Doe v. Gomez.
That ruling established a right to abortion under the Minnesota Constitution that experts view as even stronger than the previous federal protections.
Yes, but: A number of Minnesota's neighboring states are expected to ban or further limit access to abortion in the wake of today's ruling. North Dakota and South Dakota have "trigger" laws that automatically outlaw the procedure.
That's why local providers are preparing for a surge in patients.
Politicians and groups that oppose legal abortion, meanwhile, have vowed to continue efforts to further regulate and reduce the procedure in Minnesota.

If U.S. Supreme Court ends the federal protection for abortion, it would not necessarily make abortion illegal in Minnesota. In 1995, the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled the right to abortion is protected by the states Constitution, and its regulated by state law. Heres a look at what Minnesotas abortion laws are and what we know about who gets abortions in the state.

Wisconsin doctors halt abortions following court ruling, 6/24/22, AP
MADISON, Wis. (AP) Doctors across Wisconsin said they would immediately stop providing abortions, even as questions remained about the enforceability of a 173-year-old state ban, following the U.S. Supreme Courts ruling striking down its Roe v. Wade decision on Friday.

On Wednesday, Wisconsin's Republican-controlled Legislature refused to overturn the state's ban as Evers called on them to do. Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos supports an exception for rape and incest, but the state ban only provides one for the life of the mother.
The 1849, 173-year old ban.
We've returned to the dark ages.
